Rivers craft their lines through the jungle to quench the thirst of local communities. Nine-banded Armadillos circle the waterfront, while the White-lipped Peccary remains silent as to the location of this secret safe haven. Amphibious life unique only to Honduras pay tribute to Puro as they bathe in these tributaries.
Acres Saved
Watch our short film about the Puro Coffee Honduras Rainforest Reserve.
“Much of the area is in private hands and is therefore vulnerable to exploitation. The integrity of the forest is threatened by illegal timber harvesting and the contamination of soil and water supplies by agriculture. This purchase is particularly important as it contains several springs which supply fresh water to various Lencas indigenous communities located within the buffer zone of the reserve and at the Sensenti Valley.”
